Ophthalmology: A posterior capsulorhexis was shown to slightly reduce anterior (but not horizontal) shift of the IOL, which translated into about 0.5 diopters- nothing to sneeze at especially when implanting premium IOL’s. I think the technique may be a little tricky, but the learning curve should not be too steep. One has to inject viscoelastic behind the capsule in order to perform it. I don’t see high volume surgeons adopting this too readily, as it may take too much time.
