A clever ophthalmologist often takes pictures of the anterior segment using his IPhone camera. He uses his 20 diopter lens as a condensing lens, then places the IPhone about 4cm away and clicks. Presto!- a remarkably clear picture you can show immediately to the patient, and you can email it to him as well. He sends serial photographs of healing corneal ulcers, which makes quite an impression. Feedback, he says, has been great and patients tell their friends how cool it is. Try it yourself!
