Low Vitamin C May Be Related to Cataract

Ophthalmology: A large study in India involving thousands of patients found an inverse relationship between Vitamin C levels and cataract. The authors cite the anti-oxidant properties of Vitamin C as the most likely mechanism. It may be difficult to apply this study to the U.S. population where poor diet and vitamin deficiency are pretty rare.
