Increasing Frequency of Visual Field Testing Leads to Earlier Detection of Glaucoma

The August 2011 issue of the Archives of Ophthalmology published a study indicating that increasing the frequency of visual field testing leads to earlier detection of glaucoma progression.

The researchers opined that their findings have significant implications for the care of patients with glaucoma. They recommended a schedule of twice-yearly screenings rather than yearly tests.
