New Device Detects Early Keratectasia

Combining data from placido rings and corneal tomography, the new Orbscan II (Bausch and Lomb) can detect the very early signs of ectasia. This is critical, as refractive surgeons are loathe to perform refractive surgery, especially LASIK in these eyes, as progressive ectasia can be devastating to the eye.
