The March 2011 issue of the Archives of Ophthalmology reports on research investigating complications from using riboflavin–UV-A corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) to treat keratoconus.
Prior research has identified stromal haze formation and permanent stromal haze as complications of CXL (albeit the cases involved relatively mild haze and eyes with advanced keratoconus).
