I’ve been diagnosed for cone degeneration. Is retinal stem cell transplantation an appropriate treatment for my case?

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I am the resident of Mardan, Pakistan and my 18 years old brother had lost his vision two years ago. The doctors diagnosed his case as retinopathy and neuropathy, an irreversible condition. The doctors suspects this loss vision by three reasons.
    1. Anti Tuberculosis drugs side effect
    2. Solar retinopathy
    3. Genetic origin
    My question is, can we treat such a case with stem cell therapy. I will appreciate if somebody guide me in this regard. I will be extremely thankful for that.

    I would agree with Dr. Weitzer. The theory that stem cells are viable treatments for a variety of diseases is quite attractive, but the implementation of these techniques have really yet to be developed.

    experimental. no evidence that it works. consider volunteering for a study in a reputable institution.
