NeoVista’s Vidion ANV Therapy System has now been used in patients in Europe.
This novel system involves brachytherapy, or radiation, to treat patients with wet macular degeneration. The device delivers a single dose of strontium-90 beta ionizing radiation to the retina.
Neovista is hopeful that this will be a successful alternative to repeated intraocular injections. The Vidion system is anticipating Phase III trials soon.
