Treatment Options for Vitreous Hemorrhage
August 16, 2011
I have a vitreous hemorrhage and doctor states in order to clear up I need vitrectomy surgery.
I am wondering, is this the ONLY option?
Are there other options what may help clear the vitreous before doing the vitrectomy since I know surgery has more risks?

the only other option is to keep waiting for the blood to clear. laser and/or avastin injections still probably needed to lower risk of further bleeding, if bleeding due to diabetes/vascular occlusion etc. the latest evidence suggests earlier surgery, rather than waiting, is the better option.
