Collagen Cross Linking As Treatment For Acanthamoeba

Researchers in Saudi Arabia have found that collagen cross-linking, a treatment designed for keratoconus, is helpful in acanthamoeba infection of the cornea, a devastating infection that is very hard to treat and often occurs in contact lens wearers. They theorize that the oxidative process is deadly to microorganisms, or, activated free radicals damage the DNA.
