Ophthalmology: Optic nerve sheath fenestration is effective in pseudotumor (idiopathic intracranial hypertension). It makes sense, and confirmed in a study, that fenestration is needed only in one eye in order to relieve the pressure in both eyes. This is because the intracranial fluid system is one closed system, and creating a leak in one area will reduce the pressure in the entire system.
