Ophthalmology: Confocal microscopy had very good specificity and sensitivity in identifying fungal filaments in fungal and Acanthamoeba keratitis. Diagnosis is often difficult with this microorganism, and it seems corneal specialists have another good reason to buy this machine, to help us improve the odds of recovery in this difficult disease.
