Don’t ask me how this thing works- I read it a couple of times and I still don’t understand. But the Nidek F-10 confocal laser ophthalmoscope, with four different laser light sources and apertures, and something called retromode imaging, creates the most remarkable new images of the retina, giving it a sharp, 3-D -like quality. Images of drusen and macular edema literally look like moon surface photos with crevices, holes and craters. It is utterly remarkable.
