What Is Computer Vision Syndrome?
December 27, 2010
The symptoms of computer vision syndrome (CVS) include headaches, blurred vision, double vision and burning, dry, irritated eyes. CVS is caused by the decreased rate of blinking that results from extended focusing on a computer screen for protracted, uninterrupted periods of time.
To prevent CVS, follow this exercise. Shift your gaze away from the computer screen after 20 minutes of screen time, and look at an object about 20 yards away for about 20 seconds. During the exercise, blink continuously and let the eye muscles relax.
