Is TrueVision 3D the Future of Cataract Surgery?

We previously published a post reviewing the TrueVision system for cataract surgery [1]. I recently got my own firsthand look at the technology. There is a slight loss in resolution, but my feeling is that for high volume cataract surgeons, being able to do surgery by sitting in a relaxed position looking at a 3D high-def screen may be worth the small sacrifice in resolution. In the future, overlays can be used to guide incisions, and in the far future, the entire microscope will probably be abandoned.
