Is Endophthalmitis More Common in 25g Vitrectomy?

AJO: This debate has been simmering for years, but finally a good retrospective study and meta-analysis shows that unlike as we suspected, transconjunctival 25g vitrectomy had endophthalmitis rates comparable to traditional 20g. This should cause those who hesitated to consider trying this technique, especially since it’s quicker- as reimbursements go down, we have to operate faster.
