Should I Get the Shingles Vaccine?
November 1, 2010
Shingles is really a lousy disease and can cause a lot of pain and loss of vision. The vaccine has been shown to be helpful in reducing the incidence of shingles, but is not helpful once you get it. You have to be nuts not to get it, if you ask me.

If you’ve had shingles before will the vaccine prevent recurrences?
good question. not exactly sure, but i suspect yes- the vaccine increases your immunity, and shouldnt make a difference if you had shingles before or not. your primary care doctor would know better.
by the way, to be more precise, the vaccine reduces your risk- its not 100% effective, but still worthwhile.
