Does Vitrectomy Worsen Macular Degeneration?

Cataract surgery and vitrectomy have been thought to worsen AMD, but evidence has disproved that recently for cataract surgery, and now vitrectomy has been vindicated in July’s Ophthalmology. In fact, progression to geographic atrophy was better in vitrectomy patients.
