I am 74 yrs. old, have cataracts, macular degeneration [mild] and Fuchs Dystrophy. I have been scheduled for cataract surgery but am apprehensive about the results. My doctor, considered one of the best in the area, has told me he doesn’t know what the improvement to my vision will be. Rather than the usual 1 week between surgeries he wants to wait one month.

I am nearsighted even with glasses. I am not able to read road signs until very close. I also need glasses for small print. I am afraid of losing the vision I have. Why can’t he say my vision will improve with the removal of the cataracts?
