Are Beta Blockers Helpful in Treating Infantile Hemangiomas?

Following up on some case reports, there were two reports in Feb’s Archives which make beta blockers seem to be very reasonable first-line options in capillary and orbital hemagiomas. For the former, topical Timoptic placed on the lesion led to good resolution, and IV and po propranolol did the same for the latter. Nice to have an alternative to steroids or risky debulking surgery.
