Does Minocycline Inhibit Photoreceptor Degeneration?

Jeez- what doesn’t Minocycline do! In mice, this drug retarded the degeneration of photoreceptors in experimental retinal detachment in mice, even when administered after the RD (the effect was greater if administered pre). Perhaps human studies will demonstrate efficacy in the future, and give them good vision, not just anatomic success. A new wonder drug for ophthalmology- it helps in blepharitis, conjunctivitis, corneal melting, now retina.
