Is Arginase a Culprit in Diabetic Retinopathy?

Ophthalmology Times reports of a possible link between the enzyme arginase and diabetic retinopathy.  Arginase has been implicated in cardiovascular disease.  Researchers are hopeful that lowering systemic arginase levels may decrease the vascular damage caused by diabetes mellitus.
